We’d love you to be part of The Great Get Together, one of the biggest community events the UK has ever seen. Here’s how your arts or community organisation can get involved!
Host a get together
Could your organisation host a get together, big or small, on the weekend of 16-18 June and be part of a national celebration of what we have in common?
Some inspiration: The V&A will create a Great Get Together trail around their collection, Theatr Clwyd will be hosting a picnic for local audiences and young people; the Young Vic will host a Neighbourhood Theatre Party, bringing together 70 people from marginalized communities in their local area.
The Great Get Together is about taking the chance to reach out to strangers, neighbours and friends to find what we have in common, inspired by Jo Cox.
The Great Get Together is a great opportunity to reach out to new audiences. Use your creativity to make your get together a reflection of what makes your organisation great!
Email us at firstname.lastname@example.org to let us know if you would like to plan an event.
Encourage your audiences, staff and friends to host get togethers
We want everyone, no matter who they are or where they are, to take part in The Great Get Together, so we’d be really grateful for your help encouraging your audiences, staff and friends to host their own get together in their local area.
These get togethers could be big or small — a street party, a game of football or a BBQ with friends — what matters is that we have fun and bring communities closer together. For some ideas on the type of get together you could host check out our ideas page, and our partners at The Big Lunch have even more great ideas here too.
To support, we’d love you to send a dedicated email to your newsletter list and an email to your staff inviting them to host a get together.
