We know that faith communities do a huge amount already to build community and to bridge divides of age, race, wealth and opportunity. We hope that you will join us to make the Great Get Together a huge success and to celebrate what we have in common.
Host a Great Get Together
Could you host a get together on the weekend of 16-18 June and be part of a national celebration of what we have in common?
Remember that events don’t have to be a big – a BBQ in your back garden or a small picnic in the park counts just as much, you could host a community meal or kids’ sports tournament? If you’re looking for inspiration head to our ideas page. Joining up with people in your area who you might not normally get together with is very much in the spirit of the weekend.
We’ve produced some great assets to help you promote your get together and get people involved. Many of these include design files for you to adapt and co-brand as you wish. You could use these to customise your Great Get Together project/event webpage, print or media.
You can download all of these and much more in the resources section below!
Please sign up here to register your event and to be kept up to date on important information regarding resource packs and communications plans.
If you would like any particular branded materials not included in the resources below to advertise your event please let us know what materials you would like by emailing us at email@example.com
Link up with groups in your area who are hosting Get Togethers
If you are a smaller organisation or group, it may be that organising a Get Together yourself is too big a task. But don’t be put off.
If you would like to be part of the Great Get Together it’s likely that there are events in your area, organised by others, where you would be very welcome. Alternatively you could join with others in your area to plan an event together.
We very much want faith communities and your members to be a big part of the Great Get Together. If you’re stuck we can help you find people close by – let us know by emailing firstname.lastname@example.org
Shout about your involvement
We’d love to hear – and for the world to know – about your organisation’s plans to get involved with The Great Get Together. Let us know what you’re planning by emailing us at email@example.com and we can make sure we all come together to make a huge splash this June!
We would love you to please follow us on Twitter, Facebook and Instagram, and for you to share your plans with us using the hashtags #greatgettogether #letsgettogether #moreincommon and our handle @great_together
Email us at firstname.lastname@example.org to tell us what you’re planning or if you need any support in doing so.
Spread the word about The Great Get Together
We want everyone, no matter who they are or where they are, to take part in The Great Get Together, so however you as a group get involved, we would also like you to spread the word among all the people you know.
These get togethers could be big or small – a street party, a game of football or a BBQ with friends – what matters is that we have fun and bring communities closer together. For some ideas on the type of get together you could host check out our ideas page, and our partners at The Big Lunch have even more great ideas here too.
