We’d love you to be part of The Great Get Together, one of the biggest community events the UK has ever seen. Your school can get involved in a number of ways on Friday 22nd June – from holding a Great Get Together assembly, organising a sports day or leading a class activity that brings pupils together to celebrate all we have in common.
Please save Friday 22nd June in your diaries!
Assembly packs for pre-school, primary, secondary and sixth form are now available to download from this page.
These resources have been prepared in collaboration with the PSHE Association, The Linking Network and the Youth Sport Trust and include a video on The Great Get Together, a Teacher Guidance document for how the assembly fits into the PSHE curriculum and ideas for sporting activities to bring pupils together.
The Great Get Together provides a brilliant reason to do something in your school to encourage community cohesion and celebrate diversity.
Last summer, hundreds of schools up and down the country held get together events and assemblies. In Jo’s hometown of Batley in Yorkshire schools from different communities came together for a big sports day and picnic.
Meanwhile, hundreds of students in Birmingham held assemblies followed by a picnic with students from the two schools, from a range of faiths and backgrounds.
We’d love to hear what your school is planning – so please fill in the form below to register your event. By registering you will also be able to access the brand new resource pack for this year!
If you’d like to speak to someone from The Great Get Together team, please email us at firstname.lastname@example.org.
