The Great Get Together' is inspired by the late Jo Cox MP - a humanist - who was killed in June 2016. In her first speech to Parliament, Jo said: “We have more in common than that which divides us.” Five years on, we are holding a picnic in Newsham Park, reaching out to unite people, bridge divides, and tackle loneliness, while showing the collective power we have as a community.
Bring a picnic and blanket, and join us - it's open to all: inclusive, free and family (& pet) friendly! We'll ensure that it's COVID-compliant too. Fingers crossed for decent weather... 🤞
