The Great Winter Get Together

The 2020 Great Winter Get Together will be the 4th time the country has come together during the festive period to raise awareness of loneliness and social isolation. Inspired by Jo Cox’s desire to ‘turbo charge the public’s awareness of loneliness’, this year we’re asking people to join us in facing loneliness, one connection at a time. The campaign will run from 14 December - 18 January, and will see us working with partners including the Naz Legacy Foundation, the Marmalade Trust, Social Eyes, the Royal British Legion and the Women’s Institute.

The Great Get Together forms part of the Moment to Movement project, supported by Spirit of 2012. Moment to Movement transforms the Great Get Together from a series of annual events to a year-round movement to inspire social connection and community action. Spirit of 2012 is the London 2012 Games social legacy funder, which proudly invests in projects that build sustainable social connections from participation in events and develops our understanding of what works in creating happier people and happier places.

The Jo Cox Foundation

The Jo Cox Foundation exists to build a positive legacy for the late Jo Cox MP. Its vision is a kinder, more compassionate society, where every individual has a sense of belonging and where we recognise that we have more in common than that which divides us. The Jo Cox Foundation inspires and galvanises positive change at local, national and international levels. They do this by partnering with visionary individuals and organisations who share our commitment to the fairer, kinder world that Jo committed her life to building. The Foundation works locally to foster strong communities in the UK, nationally to build a better public life and internationally to stand up for vulnerable people around the world.
