2020 saw a surge in volunteers wanting to help their local community. 750,000 people signed up to the NHS Volunteer App, while mutual aid groups connected millions of people who needed help during the pandemic. Our More in Common Network saw groups of ordinary people help each other throughout the year, all across the country. 

The first few months of 2021 are going to be tough, but we know there are better times ahead. Over the next few months and beyond community activism will be more important than ever, so that all our communities can get through the pandemic and come back stronger, together. We know that there are lots of people who want to do their bit to help out their community, but we also understand that taking that first step to doing so can feel daunting.
